Hello,
My name is Drew, and I am pleased to be joining the Colorado Water Trust as a Legal Intern. I was born in Boulder and raised in Lafayette and Grand Lake, Colorado. I earned my undergraduate degree in HR management from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, and returned to Colorado after graduation. I am currently in my final semester at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, where I have concentrated my studies on water and constitutional law.
Through my work with Colorado Water Trust, I am particularly interested in the complexities of the Colorado–Big Thompson Project, transmountain and transbasin water management, and the anthropogenic systems that shape Colorado’s hydrology. As human influence on the state’s landscape continues to expand, I believe it is essential to recognize our individual and collective responsibility to steward shared natural resources and to work at understanding the interconnected needs of humans and our surrounding ecological networks.
Outside of my academic and professional pursuits, I can be found working at the Grand lake Marina or skiing/snowboarding at Mary Jane. I am grateful for the opportunity to learn from the Colorado Water Trust team and to support its mission of finding creative methods to restore water to Colorado’s rivers.
