HOW IT WORKS

 

 

 

 

Determine the amount of water you would like to balance based on your annual water use.

Below are suggested donation amounts based on the typical Colorado single-family household’s annual water use. Choose your household size from the list below, or use the calculator to estimate your annual water use.

 

  • Individual – $45 for 60,000 gallons/year
  • Couple – $70 for 90,000 gallons/year
  • Family of 3 – $95 for 125,000 gallons/year
  • Family of 4 – $120 for 160,000 gallons/year
  • Family of 5 – $150 for 195,000 gallons/year
Use the calculator below to estimate your annual water use and suggested donation amount.
 
Typically, water use is higher in the summer than in the winter. Enter the number of gallons of water used in one summer month and one winter month to calculate an average. You should be able to find these amounts on your water bill.

    You can also balance multiple years of water use, including a full lifetime!

    • Individual for a decade of water use – $450 for 600,000 gallons
    • Family of 4 for a decade of water use – $1,200 for 1,600,000 gallons
    • Individual for lifetime of water use (80 years) – $3,600 for 4,800,000 gallons

     

     

     

    Your donation will go into a myRiver Balance Fund at Colorado Water Trust that will be used to add water to rivers.

    We restore water to rivers with your dollars!

    Colorado Water Trust will use myRiver Balance funds to purchase or lease water for a river, helping to balance Colorado’s water equation.

     

     

    You’ll receive a sticker to signify your gift to Colorado’s rivers. Place it in your window, on your bumper, or on your favorite water bottle!

     

     

     

    Learn which rivers received water with your support.

    Colorado Water Trust will provide you with a report on which rivers were boosted using the myRiver Balance Fund.
