To help with the deconstruction, CWT hired Tara Schutter, a structural engineer formerly of Applegate Group, Inc., now with her own business, Tessara Water. Tara surveyed the Josh Ames Diversion Dam structure, put together a request for bids, and project-managed the on-the-ground work. The removal of the structure will include regrading of a portion of the river to re-establish an advantageous slope in the river. The sediment built up behind the structure in the river will be excavated and re-distributed in the channel and on the upstream banks for stabilization.
