myRiver Balance (first draft)

BALANCE YOUR ANNUAL WATER USE WITH myRIVER BALANCE!

AND HELP US ENSURE COLORADO HAS ENOUGH WATER FOR OUR RIVERS AND OUR PEOPLE.

myRiver Balance helps you balance your water use by returning the amount of water you use each year to Colorado’s rivers and streams.

HOW IT WORKS:

Step 1: Determine the amount of water you would like to balance.

Use Colorado’s household water use averages below to find your suggested donation amount. (For your exact water use at home, you can check your water bill.)

Suggested donation amount based on household size:

  • Individual – $50 for 60,000 gallons/year
  • Couple – $70 for 90,000 gallons/year
  • Family of 3 – $95 for 125,000 gallons/year
  • Family of 4 – $120 for 160,000 gallons/year
  • Family of 5 – $150 for 195,000 gallons/year

Step 2: Donate

Your donation will go into a myRiver Balance Fund at Colorado Water Trust that will  be used to add water to rivers.

Step 3: We restore water to rivers with your dollars!

Colorado Water Trust will use the myRiver Balance funds to purchase or lease water for a river, helping to balance Colorado’s water equation.

Step 4: Learn which rivers received water with your support

Colorado Water Trust will provide you with a report on which rivers were boosted using the myRiver Balance Fund

Step 5: Share myRiver Balance with your family and friends!

Tell others that they can balance their water use with myRiver Balance. Or better yet…
